- Make useful promises. Useful promises to others. Useful promises to yourself.
- Keep them.
Be willing to be bad.
A barrier to your growth is your unwillingness to be bad at something.
It's easier to stay with the comfortable route. To stay with the thing you're good at.
No one enjoys being bad at something. But it's inevitable whenever you take on a challenge.
It's how you know you're trying something new.
In the beginning, it will suck. Your first blog post won't be as good as your 30th. And your 10th YouTube video won't be as good as your 100th.
I've been wanting to draw for many years. I stopped because my art teacher said my work was bad in year 8. It wasn't my teacher holding me back, it was me.
I wasn't willing to be bad. For some of my first drawings to fail.
Not today. Today I made a promise to myself to get better at drawing.
I'm going to keep it.
